AWARDS & ACCOLADES
The Conrad Hotels & Resorts portfolio continues to go from strength to strength, with a string of new awards and accolades being presented to hotels across the globe.

Five Conrad Hotels & Resorts properties have been named by Condé Nast Traveller as among the best places to stay in the world. The January 2008 issue of the magazine featured the Conrad Bangkok, the Conrad Brussels, the Conrad Hong Kong, the Conrad Indianapolis and the Conrad Centennial Singapore in its prestigious ‘Gold List’ of the top 721 places to stay, voted for by up to 28,000 subscribers.

The Conrad Bangkok, the Conrad Brussels, the Conrad Hong Kong and the Mount Juliet Conrad were also awarded places in the 2008 Top 500 World’s Best Hotels by Travel + Leisure magazine.

Meanwhile, the Conrad Tokyo has been recognised by Michelin as one of the leading luxury hotels in the city. In the very first Asian edition of Michelin’s world-renowned culinary hotel guide, the Michelin Guide Tokyo 2008, the Conrad Tokyo has been placed in the highest hotel award category with just six other luxury hotels. Michelin highlighted the Conrad Tokyo for its ‘blending of legendary Conrad excellence with modern Japanese design elements’. The book also draws attention to the hotel’s ‘panoramic views of the Hamarikyu Gardens, Tsukiji market and Tokyo Bay’, and remarks on the ‘stylish’ swimming pool overlooking the modern urban landscape of Shidome.

The Conrad Tokyo’s avant-garde Chinese restaurant, China Blue, has also been awarded one Michelin star. The accolade denotes ‘a place offering cuisine prepared to a consistently high standard’. One of only five Chinese restaurants named in the Michelin Guide Tokyo 2008, China Blue also received special recognition for its level of comfort and service, its ‘interesting wine list’ and its exceptional view.

At a New York awards ceremony in January 2008, Conrad Hotels & Resorts was awarded Global Traveler’s Best Hotel Chain in Europe, and was runner up for Best International Hotel Chain.

The Conrad Bali Resort & Spa won the title of ‘Indonesia’s Leading Resort’ at the 2007 World Travel Awards, and its Jiwa Spa was also awarded ‘Spa Cuisine of the year’ at the Baccarat Asia Spa Awards 2007.
