CONRAD BRUSSELS

OVERVIEW
Situated in the heart of this politically and historically important city, the Conrad Brussels is one of the most stylish of Belgium’s luxury hotels. It is a destination hotel for the most discerning travellers, whether business or leisure, and offers unparalleled sophistication and service indigenous to the brand’s philosophy of The Luxury of Being Yourself.

LOCATION
Sited on the stylish Avenue Louise, the Conrad Brussels enjoys an enviable location in the centre of the city just minutes from the most fashionable stores and restaurants and within easy access of the international airport and Eurostar terminal. Avenue Louise is the Fifth Avenue of Brussels and is home to luxury names including Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Versace and Hermés.

RECREATION
Leisure guests and business travellers with time to spare will relish the central location of the Conrad Brussels. The hotel itself boasts a magnificent health club including a 17-metre indoor pool, sauna, whirlpool and dedicated spa.

Outside the hotel, Brussels is a haven for artistic talent and its myriad of museums and galleries regularly host some of the most important international exhibitions. Other attractions include the Palace of Fine Arts and the Belgium Centre for Comic Strip Art, home to the cartoon characters, the Smurfs!

EATING AND DRINKING
Conrad Brussels offers first rate international cuisine at its Café Wiltcher. The café boasts a magnificent terrace with access to the hotel’s striking internal courtyard. The hotel’s Dom Pérignon cellar is also home to the largest collection of vintage champagnes in the world.

No trip to Brussels is complete without sampling the city’s most famous food – chocolate. Belgian chocolatiers are famed the world over and it is impossible to walk around Brussels without being tempted into one of hundreds of enticing chocolate shops.

Second in fame to chocolate is Belgian beer. Over 450 different types exist, many of which trace their roots back to the Middle Ages when they were brewed by monks. Belgians take their beer as seriously as the French take their wine. Brussels hosts its very own beer weekend from 31 August to 2 September when the Grand Place plays host to a multitude of stalls each offering the opportunity to sample different styles of beer including chocolate, raspberry, cherry, brown, white and lambic varieties.

From 14 September the Royal Museums of Fine Arts in Belgium will present “Rubens – A Genius at Work”. Over the past four years an ongoing ambitious research project has analysed the artistic theories which guided Rubens. The exhibition will show over 120 works that endeavour to educate the visitor through Rubens’ creative process. For further information click here. Visitors can take advantage of a special package offered by the Conrad Brussels which includes two admission tickets, overnight stay and breakfast in addition to limousine transfers to/from the Royal Museum of Fine Arts. The Rubens in Brussels package costs from €299.

Throughout the summer, Brussels plays host to an international music festival. Brussels Music Village Concerts comprise 60 live events with a different performance each day. Whether your taste in music is jazz, blues, pop, swing, Cuban or gypsy, the exhaustive variety will ensure there is something for everyone. Tickets cost just €7.50 and include a complimentary glass of Belgian beer. For further information and to book tickets click here.
